THAILAND!

the cloud juice just finds a spot, lands precisely on my head and wets my hair. like i was scoped for quite some time. consequently the sound of thunder was behind me. a cloudburst is coming. i smiled. thats when i came to my senses, im back home. right here in singapore.
i have been on a road trip away from the lion city for quite sometimes. the most recent embarkation was to the "Land of the Free". thats where Thailand is derived from. i was destined for Kanchanaburi province located in the west of Thailand. its is a central location of Thailand and i have been warned of the high temperature. the first thought was, Singapore being the sunny island,so i should be accustomed to it. the torment i went through was so unimaginable, they even leave some scars.
SAF have their training base in Kanchanaburi, to be exact in the distric of SAI YOK. it took an approximate time of two and half hours until the camp was sighted from the Airport. all along are some small town and villages. our living quarters was like the traditional long house with thin mattress. beg bugs, mosquitos and other creepy crawlies also makes their home there. bt heck, we are soldiers. we are not there for a holidays.
the training was ball-breaker especially the last exercise, ex homerun. the flashback that instantly revived was walking through the night from 12am to 6am. continously. as i was always the last guy in the platoon due to my vocation, i had to be attentive. im a MEDIC. so i must be primed to handle any casualty maybe due to exhaustion. so thank god i dont have to take drastic actions to save a lives. i only have to mend blisters and cuts. not to forget, splinters. they are so lucky to have a medic doing all that for them. came to wonder, who do medic complain their pain or injures to? hah. so they say, never underestimate a medic. they are shoulder to shoulder with fellow riflemen, or maybe even better.
mountains are scaled, branches that literally "get in your face", mosquitos as gargantuan that could make you wonder you are in Jumanji and the anomalous climate. you get all drippy and sweat due to the scorching day weather and would have thought to leave out the jacket. once the moon is at its highest and the dew start appearing, you could shiver to a frozen solid. i just barely escape that and remind me not to be absent-minded.
on a overall note, thailand is a awesome country for historical sites. the region known today as Thailand has been inhabited by humans since the paleolithic period! (about 500,000 - 10,000 years ago). theres also numerous archaeological sites and artifacts that are scattered throughout the Siamese landscape which make be a interest to others. the most famous one being the DEATH RAILWAY. and yea, here i boost that i stepped on the original death railway before. now many did before. right?and i have been an audience to the fame cobra show in thailand, have you?
it was indeed an eye-opening trip. this 2 weeks in singapore will be treasured before i leave for my escapades in taiwan.i never thought i said this bt, i miss singapore. =)
and yea,
THAILAND HAVE THE BEST FOOD I EVER TASTED.
MISSION CRESCENDO ACCOMPLISHED!
