Southern Ridges Hike.

so here i am like a peacock feeling satisfaction over something regarded as highly creditable to oneself.
on a rather breezy and serene friday morning, pairing up with my adventure mate, Adib, we resolved to test our endurance in the recently opened Southern Ridges. undergoing the whole chain of trail of almost 10km, we started early to prevent the noon sun from drying us out.

the start point of this trail was at West Coast Park followed with a formidable route. navigating through NUS plus the winding, bumpy and numerous up and downs in Kent Ridge Road. theres more the one occasion where you find yourself waking uphill.
as perspire trickle down along the roads which repeatedly curving in alternate directions, you began to wonder when will it ever end. braving through all front and finally emerge is the entrance of Kent Ridge Park guarded by an amoury tank. to enter, climb up on of the steepest uphill walk. and here on, the lush greenery begans to welcome your eyes.

an elevated canopy walk at Kent Ridge will lead to HORTPARK. the 23-hectare gardening hub. showcasing garden designs, products and services, this is to promote a cleaner and greener singapore. it is aso the connector from Kent Ridge to Telok Blangah Hill Park. the came one of the attracitions, the opened leaf shape Alexandra Arc. the beauty, have neon lights during dark. unfortunately , i was able to witness it.
nxt up, the trek throught the canopy of trees via the forest walk and hilltop walk. brush hrough this thick vegetation while enjoying the birds eye view of things. soon enough you will encounter Singapores highest pedestrian bridge. an undulating brigde with great design. the Henderson waves will leave you amazed.

4.5 hours of walking (and some pitstop) till the destination at the top of mount faber was sighted.the whole journey was neverthless worth the time. strolling to enjot the lrich greenery and adundance of fresh air amidst the lush nature, its a amazing way to unwind.

on overall note, yes its was ball-busting. the constant walk could wear anyone out. the 10km hike we took, share an eye to something thats depleting in the world today. this natural wonder is an amazing beauty which doesnt come at any cost. as i look back at it, it serves as a progessive training to my future endeavours. and im yearning for more.

theres more trekking and hiking on my mind that need accomplishment.
for one fine day, the dream of being up the in the summit of Mount Ophir would be fulfilled.

and i will always miss having my arms around you.=)
